About Us
Founded in 2021, Crosspoint Outdoorsman is a nonprofit, non-denominational Christian mission to outdoorsmen. Our focus is to utilize nonreligious venues and settings to bring outdoorsmen together in Christian fellowship. To bring men to the decision point of the cross of Jesus Christ who may not otherwise seek God’s love and purpose for their lives in typical religious settings such as a church or other similar Christian venues. Our commitment is ministry to outdoorsmen throughout the state of Virginia; giving men purpose by serving those in need in our community and wherever God’s Spirit may lead us to go.

Founder & President/Group Leader
Dan Mathews
Dan Matthews is an avid outdoorsman and has been hunting, fishing and hiking since he was a young boy.
His love of nature has been a source of joy, education and inspiration. He has pastored several churches over
the past 25 years and had the opportunity to live on the mission field as a missionary pastor. From 2010 –
2015 Dan was the pastor/administrator of a faith based residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for men. Dan also had extensive experience working
in national disaster service programs as a Chaplain and Incident Commander. His passion is reaching and transforming men for Christ.
What is it all about?

First and foremost it is about reaching out to the Outdoorsman community with the gospel of Jesus Christ in nonreligious outdoor settings. Dan, one of our organizational founders, grew up in Eastern Virginia, an outdoorsman myself, and came
to know Christ's saving power at age 19. I've spent my life encouraging others to come to know Him in this way as well. Through my years of hunting, hiking, fishing and other outdoor experiences, I've come to realize there is an entire community of outdoorsman who do not see
the organized religious setting as a place for them, for whatever reasons. Men that desire Christian fellowship but need venues outside religious settings to hear about God's love and purpose for their lives. As God has called others through the cons to go outside their cultural settings,
and reach people with His message of love and forgiveness, so he has called us at Crosspoint Outdoorsman to do this very thing. To step outside the cultural and religious settings and
